App Store Optimization | TS

As a new app for truck drivers, being easily discovered in the App Store and Play Store was paramount.

I worked with our Brand Designer and SEO/ASO Lead to develop a strategy for boosting visibility in the app stores and write new, harder hitting content.

Why prioritize ASO?

Audit

First, to identify the lowest effort, highest impact changes we could make, we broke down the app store components.

Research

Using Sensor Tower, we identified the top app store performers in each of our key product areas and outlined how people were finding us in app stores.

Approach

Based on the research, I recommended building two versions to A/B test: “load board-first” and “one stop-shop.”

A/B Testing

We built two screenshot narratives to test: a free load board app or an app that can help them run their businesses. Truckers preferred the “free load board” messaging (v1).

Optimizing the content

The rest of the content was optimized to leverage keywords and key search phrases. This included updating the 4,000-word description without using AI so we wouldn’t be penalized.
